Polishes:

Color Club’s Blue Ming (from July Birchbox)
Andrea’s Choice Circus’ Sumersault (from July Glam Bag)

Kind of wish the Blue Ming was more neon, but it’s still a very pretty color. Both polishes are rather similar to ones I already own, but I’m not complaining. Color Club’s polish is a bit thick and gloppy to work with, while Circus is pretty sheer and takes a few layers to become opaque.

Mixin' It Up: Middle Part

I went to a wedding last weekend and randomly decided to rock the middle part for the first time since middle school. I liked it for a fun change, felt pretty sophisticated and was probably sub-consciously inspired by Tanya Burr.

I loved the look with the loose curls, created with a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, but when the roots fell flat from dancing, it wasn’t as cute. To say the least. ;)

I also dyed the ends of my hair with Manic Panic’s Cotton Candy… However, I didn’t bleach first so it ended up being a dark pink. Still love the fun accent, even though I had to leave the color in for 2 hours. (My first trial of 30 minutes, as directed, left a barely noticeable tinge).

Yay hair! haha —jh

Favorite Skin Care Products:

Clearasil Daily Pore Cleansing Pads: A container of 90 pads is only $4 at the drugstore. I used to love these in high school, and rediscovered them this year. I bought the same container in February and still have 10 or so left. These are awesome for afternoons when I have already done my eye makeup for the day, but want to cleanse my skin of the oil, sweat and grime before heading out for the night. They also contain 2% Salicylic Acidwhich is good for acne and the textured pad makes my skin feel super clean and refreshed.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque:I have had this product for a long time, but started using it again this month. It is so refreshing and an easy way to pamper yourself at home. It’s that green face mask you would see TV stars using when you were younger and always wanted to try. And again, super inexpensive for a huge bottle at the drugstore.

Favorite Nail Polish:

Revlon White On White: I have used this polish for the base on my Neon nails, my Lilac Mist nails and on the tips of my DIY French Manicure nails. Needless to say, I have gotten a lot of use of this polish and appreciate that is doesn’t chip too quickly, unlike the cheaper Wet N Wild polish I used to use.

Favorite Lip Product:

Rimmel London Lip Stick in Pink Blush: I love this pigmented pink shade that can be surprisingly wearable day and night. It’s a great quality lip stick and lasts a long time. I also love the pink pop of color it gives, especially for summer.

Favorite Eye Product:

Felt Tip Liners: I am subscribed to Glam Bag and Birch Box, and funny enough, they both included a felt tip eye liner this month. I received the Marbella Semi-Permanant Pen and EyeKo Skinny Liquid Liner. I have used felt tip liners before and these 2 are by far the best ones I’ve used. I can’t choose a favorite yet, but I love being able to get a very precise line on the lash line as well as complete a winged liner with ease.

Favorite Hair Product:

John Frieda Blonde Expressions Conditioner:My sister purchased the shampoo and conditioner from this line a while back, and when she ran out of the shampoo, I jumped on the opportunity to use the conditioner. My hair gets a little lighter (some pieces actually blonde) in the summer. When debating between going darker or staying natural, I decided to embrace lighter hair for the coming months. I don’t know if this product is actually bringing out the blonde, but I really think it’s adding a lot of dimension when I use it. And more than that, it leaves my hair super soft.

These are my favorite beauty products of the month of June! I am mimicking the videos that most beauty gurus create on YouTube every month. It’s a fun way to look back on the month. :)

This month I have been loving the light pinks and the less intense shades (other than the last neon look haha). I have never worn this color, but the white micro-shimmer and silver glitter on the light pink is just dazzling.

On My Nails: DIY French Manicure

For the first time in my entire life, I painted my nails the same style/colors back to back. Epic.

So I’m loving the look of french manicures right now and let’s be honest: it’s an eternally classic look. I wanted to do them for a mock-interview I had, and then I wanted to keep wearing them. And then when they started chipping, I wanted to repaint them and practice them more and more and more. Enough run-on sentences for you?

Polishes used:

Ulta Base Coat
Sally Hansen Plus in Vanilla Whimsy
Orly Instant Artist in Crisp White (to make the outline)
Revlon White On White (to fill in the ends)

And hence the lack of posts recently. Also, unless I’ve had to work, I haven’t really worn that much makeup the last couple of weeks. Summer lovin’! :)

I bought the lipstick on a whim last week and decided to layer the lip gloss on top, which I never really liked until now. Just goes with the whole brights trend for summer… Just really love this combo!! :)

Hair

Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray.
Curled in various styles in various sizes of pieces.
No hairspray.
Finger-combed after it completely cooled.

Just a simple, amped-natural look. Andddddd I love it. haha!

I repeated the look I posted the other day, but changed a few things to look more polished. I’m kind of obsessed with this mint accent color! :)

Base: MAC Bare Study paint pot
Neutral shadows: Urban Decay Naked Palette
Mint accent: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, 2 shades from BHCosmetics 88 Matte Palette, with Virgin from the Naked Palette on top.
Mascara: Loreal Telescopic in Black Noir

I will be wearing variations of this look allllll summer. Lovelove :D

I was inspired by MissGlamorazzi’s Hint of Mint makeup tutorial on youtube. I really like the idea of a mint green accent! Subtle, but summery at the same time. :)
